There's no better way to discover and explore San Jose, Costa Rica than by walking it. And it's even nicer when you have somebody showing you around who knows what they're doing- You don't have to worry about getting LOST, backtracking, consulting a map every 5 minutes... and so WORRY FREE.

San Jose Costa Rica deserves a look see. I'm tired of Travel Books and Internet sites bashing San Jose and telling people to spend as little time there as possible. (Although at one time, I was one of those people, but HEY, I APOLOGIZED and have been making my amends ever since). Whether you're flying IN or OUT of San Jose or whether you only have a few hours or a couple days, you should MAKE time to do a little exploration of San Jose.,

That said, D'Angelo and myself have been to San Jose, Costa Rica dozens of times, but we thought it was about time we got MORE background and history on the city itself. A lot of people THINK they know San Jose, but we wanted someone who actually DID. So, we were pretty excited to get hooked up with Stacy who owns and operates Barrio Bird Walking Tours and she assured us a couple of interesting hours cruising around San Jose while getting educated in the process.

Here's a few of the TOURS Barrio Bird offers (we hear there's MORE coming so CHECK their website) and by the way, we did the 'Bird's Nest Tour'.

The Bird's Nest: An introductory tour with over 40 stops, showing a variety of galleries, historic sites, parks, and buildings and public art of interest. You'll finish near a few special restaurants, with special tour discounts on lunch.
