No trip to Manzanillo would be complete without at least stopping in for a beer at Maxi's Restaurant. Maxi's is pretty popular and since it's located smack dab in the middle of town you really would have to be blind to miss it.
We weren't expecting too much from Maxi's, even though it's pretty appealing from the outside, but all in all, it's a fairly typical Costa Rican structure. So we're thinking the regular Tico menu items, fish, nacho's, sandwiches and of course, casado's, which are a typical dish here made up of rice, beans, piece of either fish, steak or chicken, small salad, a plantain or two and sometimes a scoop of something pasta.
Well, they did have those things, but boy, was everything a few steps above most places we eat. Our friends who are in the video thought this food was the BEST they'd had since arriving in Costa Rica and I think he even mentions the fact in the video.
Maxi's has great food, especially the fish and of course it can turn into quite the party place when futbol is on the tube. So, great food, cold beer, great view, nice breeze, cool vibe, why wouldn't you stop in?
